When I was an architecture student in Malaysia I often aspired to reinterpret traditional building methods and philosophies in my designs. I had a vague idea of the vernacular I was looking for but it really crystallised after visiting a residential project by Jimmy Lim. That visit prompted me to look further and that was when I stumbled on his Salinger House.
